On Street Art
Here in the Philippines, street art gets frowned upon a lot by a lot of people especially the stiff ones. Others get it, while most really don’t, they consider it a descration of public property. But if done properly, street art can freshen up and revitalize old boring spaces within the historic streets of Manila.
It’s also a great way of drawing attention to usually overlooked areas or spots. We have an abundance of untapped talent in the form of grafitti artists who can really make masterpieces out of blank walls. If only our city leaders can be open-minded enough to see the potential of street art, we can create an environment that encourages creativity and a lot of color.
